toing & froing

Despite the rugged conditions and profound isolation, Lake Margaret’s past inhabitants speak with a vibrant exuberance when recounting tales and memories of this singular place.

Central to many of their sentiments lies the Village Hall, a substantial building on the edge of the settlement that elicits warm tales of social gatherings, children’s games, and a fiercely competitive badminton competition! A beacon in this cold, wet, and uncompromising landscape.

Using this strong sense of community as a starting point, toing & froing sets out to capture the spirit of adventure, ingenuity and imagination of those who once lived here; a spirit resulting in a rare sense of freedom this is only experienced when risk and vulnerability combine in equal measure with comfort and security.
