live feed

collective presence uses nine security cameras mounted on the eastern facing wall of ogilvie high school to transmit nine discrete sections of the sky, spanning approx. 180 above the horizon. These images are then transmitted live to a digital video recorder which compiles them into a 3x3 grid. The grid is then projected onto an internal wall and can be viewed through a large window. This virtual window acts like an evolving canvas and offers both an expanded and contracted view of the external environment. Through this mediated real-time framing of the sky, viewers are offered the opportunity for a contemplative engagement with their surrounds.
